MATCH REPORT JAGS 1 LOSSIE 0

Highland League champions Buckie extend their lead at the top of the table to three points and they still have two games in hand on nearest challengers Keith.

This was Buckie's second 1-0 win in succession while other championship contenders have been banging in the goals.  But manager Gregg Carrol knows whatever the winning margin, the three points are all important.

Carrol said: "We would want to score more goals but a win is a win, whatever the scoreline.  When you know you aren't playing as well as you know you can but still get results, its not so bad.

"We managed to restrict Lossie to only a couple of chances.

"They are a well-organised side who work hard for each other so it was another good three points and of course we are still at the top of the table."

"Lossiemouth assistant manager Stewart Cameron said: "There wasn't much between the two sides and a draw would have been a fair result.

"Unlike in recent games when we were perhaps good in one half only today we played well for the whole 90 minutes which is encouraging.

"Buckie fielded a physically strong side but we didn't allow them to bully us and showed a lot of character throughout the game."

The only goal of the game came in the 56th minute when Lewis MacKinnon sent a looping header up and over Coasters goalkeeper Darren McConnachie.
