MATCH REPORT - JAGS 0 TURRIFF UNITED 1

Turriff United will have home advantage against Fraserburgh in the quarter-finals of the Highland League Cup after a deserved victory against Buckie Thistle at Victoria Park.

Dave McKenzie's 17th goal of the season proved to be the difference between the sides but Turriff created a number of other chances and should have found the target again.

Turriff manager Kris Hunter said: "We played well and on our first-half performance we deserved to get through."

Buckie manager Gregg Carrol said: "We lost a goal from a cross into the box which is not the first time this season this has happened.

"We created a few chances in a game where both sides huffed and puffed.

"We are suffering from a lack of confidence."

Turrif won the game with Dave McKenzie leaving Kevin Main helpless as his 12-yard volley flew past the goalkeeper after Mark Cowie flicked on a Robbie Allan cross.

Lewis MacKinnon hit the bar for Buckie, while Craig Morrison missed a couple of good opportunites for the visitors with Grant Noble also sending a 22-yard drive against the post.
