OBITUARY - GEORGE MacGREGOR BY EASTON THAIN

Buckie Thistle FC were deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Committee member George MacGregor in the early hours of last Saturday morning.

It was a big shock to everyone at the club and his sad passing has robbed the club of one of its greatest characters.

Possessing a great sense of humour and with a kindly and forthcoming demeanour George was a really nice chap who got on well with his fellow Committee members and with everyone involved with the club.  He loved his football, being involved in the game for many years and he could spot a good player any day and did some scouting in his time in the game.

George had an interesting life, including time spent in Canada, and at home he was a loving husband, father and grandfather.

Before the game on Saturday the respect for him was very evident with a dutifully observed minute's silence.

Buckie Thistle offer their heartfelt sympathy to his family and they can be rest assured George will always have a place in our hearts.

God Bless you, George, and Rest in Peace.

George's funeral service will be held on Friday 25th March at the North Church, Buckie starting at 1.30pm
