MATCH REPORT - WICK 3 JAGS 1

The task of facing a free-flowing Academy outfit without 10 of their first-team squad proved too much for the champions.

Wick manager Davie Kirkwood was delighted with his side's performance as they shocked Buckie.

He said: "I am very pleased with the performance but it is just continuing from the way we have been playing.

"They went down to 10 men just after half-time but I don't think that really had any bearing on the result and although they probably did have to field a weakened side it was still all about getting the win and we did that."

Buckie manager Gregg Carrol made no excuses when he said: "We did have 10-players out but take nothing away from Wick.

"When they went 1-0 up we equalised immediately.  We had Michael Morrison sent off for a last-man offence right after half-time and I have no problems with that."

Wick opened the scoring through Sam Mackay in the 26th minute but two minutes later the Jags were level with a sublime Sutherland lob.

Early in the second half Morrison was red-carded for a last man offence after a foul on Gary Weir.  Academy took advantage and Richard Macadie finished off a trademark sweeping move to put his side 2-1 up before David Allan rubbed salt in the Buckie wounds in the 70th minute.
