SCOTTISH CUP REPORT - BUCKIE THISTLE 2 EAST STIRLINGSHIRE 4 (AET)
Heads will roll at Buckie after the Jags exited the Scottish Cup in a replay that went to extra time.
Manager Gregg Carrol said: "We are not playing with the same fluency of last season and too many players in my squad are picking up wages for not peforming. So there will be a meeting at Monday night's training and there will be players moving on."
Buckie came back from 2-0 down to force extra time but it was Shire who scored twice more.
The SFL Third Division side will now face Second DivisionEast Fife at Methill in the third round.
A bitterly disappointed Carrol has lost patience after the latest in a series of mediocre displays this term.
He said: "Three simple mistakes gave them three goals. A recovery is no use if you are then going to go behind again.
"Mark Chisholm showed the way, performing well but not enough players took a lead from him"
The Jags faced Windy Elements in the opening half, but were second best.
Shire's Andrew Stirling used the conditions to his advantage, netting with a free kick into the top corner.
It could have been two had Lewis MacKinnon not cleared off the line but the second came when Stirling laid back to Bradley Coyne, who scored from the edge of the box.
Buckie had a penalty claim waved away when Stuart Beveridge appeared to have handled. But the hosts did get back into the game when Zander Sutherland crossed from the left to Martin Charlesworth.
His effort was saved but Craig MacMillan stuck away the rebound.
Charlesworth wasted a one-on-one opportunity before Mark Chisholm got his first goal since leaving Deveronvale. He headed home after Graeme Stewart's cross was met by Craig MacMillan and saved.
Charlesworth was again in with a chance late on with a header but in extra time changes by the visitors paid dividends.
Substitute Fraser Team set up a pass for fellow substitute Dominico Gibson who made no mistake to give the visitors the lead again.
Then Team spotted a gap high at the near post of Kevin Main and cleverly utilised the space to score.
In between the goals, Michael Morrison, Hamish and Donnie Munro went close but in the end it was all about taking chances.
Buckie can have no complaints after going so close to winning the second-round match at the first time of asking when they visited Ochilview. Shire manager John Coughlan said: "we are delighted. This is a difficult place to win at and Buckie are not champions for nothing."
