Zoe Geddes Memorial Trophy Presentation

On Friday, 23 December, approx 8.50pm, sees the first ever presentation of the Zoe Geddes Memorial Trophy.

We at Buckie Thistle were rocked by the tragic news of the loss of Zoe Geddes earlier this season. Zoe Geddes (13) lost her brave battle with leukaemia in May at Yorkhill Children's hospital in Glasgow, following chemotherapy treatment, less than six months after being diagnosed with cancer.

The Zoe Geddes memorial trophy will go to the most improved player this season. This trophy will be a lasting tribute to Zoe who was very much a part of the girls' team from the outset and is sorely missed by everyone involved at the club.

The trophy will be presented by Zoe's parents, Andrew and Christine, who were actively involved in setting up this memorial award. The presentation will take place in the function hall during the half time interval of the Buckie Thistle versus Deveronvale game and we would welcome anyone to come and show their appreciation of the efforts that the girls have shown this season.

The U13's girls had their first season in the SWF league and had a very credible mid table finish. The league consisted of 13 teams with clubs ranging from as far as Stonehaven to Elgin played on a home and away basis.

On a personal note I would like to thank everyone who has been involved with Buckie Thistle Girls this season for their immense effort and support and this can only reflect on the massive progress made by the girls to date and look forward to the new season ahead.

Have a very merry green and white Christmas and a Happy New Year...
