PREVIOUS MATCH REPORT -- July 23rd 2008 --BUCKIE THISTLE v INVERNESS CALEY TH (RESERVES )

The match kicked off on an evening of glorious sunshine and with a healthy crowd of more than 150, which was good considering that this was the first night of the annual "Peter Fair".

Buckie's starting line up had six changes to the team that started at Turriff, the most notable being Charlie Brown who was making his debut for the Jags.

The young Inverness side were quickly "out of the blocks" and stunned the Jags by being two goals up in the first 15 minutes of the match, with goals from STEWART LESLIE in 8 minutes who drove the ball into the corner of the net following a cutback from the edge of the box, then SHANE SUTHERLAND  doubled the lead 5 minutes later giving Main no chance when put clear through on goal.

Main did well to save from the same player minutes later.

The Jags then went close on a couple of occasions, Brown brought out a good save from the visiting keeper and Napier produced a great cross, but no one followed up to take advantage.

                                        HALF TIME 0 - 2

Buckie started the second half well and forced several corner kicks.

Andy Low then had a good effort which was well saved by the Inverness keeper and should have then scored from Shewan's head back across the goal, but sliced his shot wide.

The hard working Napier was busy throughout but shot widely over when through on goal.

Neill and Brown were replaced by Matheson and Edmond, both players receiving a good ovation from the home crowd for their performances.

Buckie continued to have the better of the possesion and Angus headed over from a Hamilton cross.

SUMMARY - a good work out for the Jags who were "caught cold" in the first 15 minutes by a very good Inverness side with several promising players.

Buckie did well after this however and went on to produced a good performance.  Players who caught the eye were Iain Good, David Macrae, Brian Neill, Paul Napier and Charlie Brown.
