The match kicked off on a scorcher of a day, the Jags starting line-up had two changes from the previous midweek game against inverness,  with Angus and Shewan both starting.

It was obvious within the opening 15 minutes that Edinburgh City were a good, big, strong and experienced side.  The visitors started well and Main produced a really good save in 20 minutes, diving at the feet of a City forward who had been put through clear on goal.

Buckie went ahead on 42minutes, good work from Bob Duncan saw him drive forward to the edge of the box where he slipped the ball to ANDY LOW who curled the ball past City keeper Hogarth and into the net for a good finish.

David Macrae was replaced by Macdonald early in the second half.  Buckie were now dominating more of the play and had several attempts on goal.  Duncan struck the ball well but high from a freekick, Brown had a shot blocked and Shewan went close with a header.

The Jags second goal arrived in 65 minutes, Macdonald played the ball to Napier who drove forward before slipping the ball to Andy Low,  the ball was then squared for MATTHEW EDMOND (who had earlier replaced the hard working  Charlie Brown) to place the ball into an empty net.

Buckie then played some good football creating several chances including Shewan heading wide, the impressive Napier beating two defenders and bringing out a good save from Hogarth, then "Marra" (who was on as a sub and back in the squad after a recent rib injury) almost "did a Gazza", chipping the ball over a defenders head before blasting his volley high and wide.

SUMMARY -- A good  hard workout for both sides and ideal preparation for the new season ahead, which begins next Saturday (2nd August) when the Jags face FORRES MECHANICS AWAY in the first match of the season (Kick off 3.00pm) -- COME ALONG AND SUPPORT THE JAGS!
