LOW HOPING TO SCORE MORE GOALS AFTER KNEE SURGERY

andy_low_220Buckie Thistle forward Andy Low is preparing for a knee operation before he can think about a playing return.

The former Huntly and Inverurie Locos player has been trying to play through the pain, but has decided enough is enough.

He said: "It has been a very frustrating season as the knee hasn't been holding up and I have made it worse by playing.

"I have decided to stop as I wasn't doing myself any favours and was frustrated by my performances.

"I am waiting to hear back from the specialist and it is looking like I will have to have an operation, hopefully some time before Christmas.

"I know I should have done something about it prior to this, as I have had ongoing problems with my knee for the last two years.

"Hopefully, once they have a look at it with a little keyhole surgery they will be able to put things rigth."

The 24-year-old Aberdeen based sales engineer knows the pressure is on to impress new manager Gregg Carrol and said: "If we can carry forward some of the things we do in training to matches I have no doubt we will start to climb the table, especially after the confidence-boosting victory against Vale last weekend.

"Having Gregg in as manager has been really good, I've always got on well with him anyway but he has come in and the players have taken to him well.

"He sets high standards, wants nothing less than 100% and I am sure we will give him it as he has put confidence back into the side.

"Hopefully, I can get myself back into the side and bang in a few goals before the end of the season."
