Boost for Jags fans -- as 12 players sign new contracts

Buckie Thistle fans have today (Wednesday 24th December) recieved the great news that 12 players have committed their future's to the Jags by signing new extended contracts.  Jags manager GREGG CARROL today said "this is great news for the club and our supporters.  It shows the level of commitment we have here at Victoria Park and we have worked hard over the last three week's to achieve this objective".

"It is a two-way thing as I told Club President Mark Duncan when I arrived I was here for the long haul.  It is important we work hard to build a long-standing working relationship."

"When players see your commitment it leads to what we are able to do."

"You have to keep things moving along, so if I see the right player, or better players becoming available, of course we will be interested."

"I'm sure one or two clubs would have been interested in Davie Macrae's situation, but now he has shown his commitment by signing a new contract it shows just how happy he is at Buckie."

"Talk's are still ongoing with a number of players and we will be sitting down with others including Charlie Brown over the next few days, we have also agreed terms with Kevin Small and he will put pen to paper next week."

Buckie already have a number of key players signed on lengthy contracts beyond this season, including Donnie Munro, Martin Charlesworth, Paul Napier and Brian Neill. The list of players signing new deals was as follows ...
