MATCH REPORT -- BUCKIE THISTLE 7 FORT WILLIAM 1
The Jags starting line-up saw Paul Napier return with Donnie Munro the only player missing from last week's match at Huntly.
Buckie were on the attack and created several chances in the opening minutes, coming close to opening the scoring.
The first goal was scored when David Macrae's shot from a free-kick was parried and CRAIG MACMILLAN followed up to score in 6 minutes.
The young goalkeeper of Fort William, Gary Macleod, then brought off several saves to keep his side in the match, one from a Charlesworth volley in particular following a cross from Napier was excellent.
Charlie Brown left the field with an injury in twelve minutes and was replaced by Stephen "Marra" Bruce.
Buckie went two ahead in the 27th minute when a great cross saw STEPHEN BRUCE head home from close range.
Bruce then became goal provider with a cross to CRAIG MACMILLAN who side footed the ball into the net.
HALF-TIME 3-0
The score was 4-0 on the hour mark when Andy Matheson (on for Martin Charlesworth) had two shots at goal blocked only for the ball to fall at the feet of CRAIG MACMILLAN who placed the ball into the net for his hat-trick.
Fort William pulled a goal back in 62 minutes, Bob Duncan lost possession and Ellis played the ball to RICHARD FINNIS who scored a good goal.
The Jags responded minutes later when CRAIG MACMILLAN was put through on goal and he slid the ball past the advancing keeper and into the net.
David Angus then came on for Bob Duncan minutes later.
CRAIG MACMILLAN then scored his fifth goal with a great chip over the keeper.
The Jags fans then witnessed a "double hat-trick" from their striker and it was a cracker! Kevin Main kicked the ball upfield and CRAIG MACMILAN hit the ball first time from about 25 yards right into the top corner of the net - a really great goal that had the Jags fans in raptures.
Fort William then substituted their goalkeeper and Macmillan almost brought his own tally to seven shooting past the keeper only to see his shot come back off the post.
FINAL SCORE 7-1
Summary -- Another three points collected by the Jags in their ninth straight league win in a row, another good performance by the whole team, it is very rare in football to see a player score 6 goals in the same match so congratulations to Craig Macmillan for this achievement and he was given the sponsors "Man of the Match" in recognition of this.
