MATCH REPORT -- KEITH 3 BUCKIE THISTLE 0

The Jags starting line-up had Shewan and Macmillan back in the side, with Duncan suspended, Davidson offshore and Charlesworth missing after failing a late fitness test.

Buckie started well enough having a good share of possesion and build-up play, up to the edge of the Keith penalty box without really threatening.

Buckie had three attempts on goal in the first half - all from David Macrae, two were well wide of the target and one was deflected just over the bar.

The Jags won a number of corner kick's, all of which saw the home side pack their penalty box with all their players bar one, positioned on the half-way line.

Keith, playing with the wind behind their back's in the first half adopted a tactic of playing long ball's up front then supporting the play.

This paid dividends for the home side and the Jags defence looked uncomfortable in dealing with this.

Keith went ahead in 17 minutes when a header off the bar was rammed home by GARY HARRIS.  It was 2-0 nine minutes later in a carbon-copy goal, a shot from Still was parried by Main and STUART WALKER followed up to score.

The match as a contest was all but over three minutes from half-time when Keith were awarded a penalty from a free-kick and GARY HARRIS scored from the spot.

                              HALF-TIME 3-0

The second half was a bit of a non-event, Buckie at times played some half-decent possesion football without really looking like scoring. Bruce on as a sub for Macmillan hit the base of the post.

The home side played out the second half with some good possesion football.

                            FULL-TIME 3-0

SUMMARY -- A very dissapointing performance from the Jags, especially in the first half, which was similar to the second half at Wick the previous week, the only Jags player who looked anything like at his best was David Macrae.

The three goals conceded were bad from the Jags point of view and this gave Buckie a mountain to climb in the second half.  Keith deserved to win this match and 3-0 was probably a fair score-line, although apart from the three goals scored neither goalkeeper had any real saves of note to make.

The Jags side currently looks lacking in confidence and the last three matches have been lost by score's of 2-0, 4-0 and 3-0, nine goals conceded with none scored, which says it all.

It doesn't get any easier for the Jags as they again travel to Keith again next Saturday (28th March) for a league match, Buckie will have Macrae and Shewan suspended for this match but Duncan and hopefully Charlesworth should be available again.

Above all, the Jags support, who again travelled in large numbers for this match, will be hoping for a much improved performance  from their team in this Saturday's fixture.

The Buckie team was: - MAIN, SHEWAN, LAMBERTON, SMALL, ANGUS, NAPIER, MACDONALD, MACRAE, MUNRO, BROWN and CHARLESWORTH.

Subs (Used) BRUCE, GOOD and HAMILTON (unused) MATHESON and FRASER.
