Volunteers are being sought to help make Buckie Thistle stalwart Neil 'Zico' Davidson's testimonial season a special one.

Midfielder Neil has been a fans favourite during the last 11 or so years he has faithfully served at Victoria Park, and his brother, Mike has appealed for people to come forward and help out organising various events to mark this local footballing milestone.

He said: "We have been in touch with David Johnston at Aberdeen FC to explore the possibility of the Dons playing against Buckie at Neil's testimonial, but we are still waiting to hear back regarding a date for any potential match.

"Anyone who would like to help out on Neil's Testimonial Committee can give me a ring on (01542) 841046."

The testimonial fund has already received a boost to the tune of more than £2,000 thanks to two auction items sold at the highly successful Buckie Thistle Sporting Evening.

Throughout the coming year, the Testimonial committee will be looking to hold a number of other fundraising events.
