A LOOK BACK TO 100 YEARS AGO - JAGS JOIN THE HIGHLAND LEAGUE

HIGHLAND LEAGUE ENTRY

1oo years ago -the annual meeting of the Highland League was held at Inverness on the 29th, but it was only on Saturday that Buckie Thistle received official intimation that their application for entry for season 1909/10 had beensuccessful.  This should be a great advantage to Thistle for it secures for them home and away matches with the following teams: Caledonian, Citadel, Clachnacuddin and Thistle (all of Inverness); Highland Light Infantry, Fort George, Forres Mechanics and Elgin City.

No other Banffshire team has ever had the distinction of being included in the Highland League competition and Buckie's inclusion is doubtless due to their splendid record of last season.
