MATCH REPORT - BRORA RANGERS 0 BUCKIE THISTLE 5

The match kicked off in glorious sunshine, the Jags first real opportunity came in 10 minutes when Charlie Brown was through on goal but he blasted the ball well over the bar when inside the box.

Buckie were given a great opportunity to open the scoring in 30 minutes when Charlesworth was brought down in the box and a penalty was awarded, the referee also sent off the Brora defender for the same incident, Charlesworth - who had been limping minutes earlier was replaced by Macmillan.

Lewis Mackinnon stepped up to take the spot-kick which he drove hard, but straight at McCallum who saved well - holding onto the ball, seconds later comments were made to the Ref by a Brora defender (obviously frustrated at the sending off) this then resulted in the award of a free-kick at the edge of the box which the home keeper then tipped over the bar saving again from Mackinnon.

Buckie should have gone ahead 2 minutes before half-time but Munro volleyed over from five yards from Napiers cross.

                               HALF-TIME 0-0

The second half started with the Jags forcing several corners in the first five minutes, Shewan should have hit the target in 55 minutes but headed over.

The Jags opened the scoring in 61 minutes when Napier passed to CHARLIE BROWN who beat the keeper with his low angled shot - which went into the net via the post.  Shewan then had an amazing miss minutes later when he somehow managed to put the ball over the bar from around four yards.

It was 2-0 in 72 minutes when Chris Angus was fouled in the box (a "stonewall" penalty) and CRAIG MACMILLAN made sure that there were no mistakes from the spot.  CRAIG MACMILLAN then made it 3-0 in 80 minutes when he lobbed the keeper for a good finish.

It was four a minute later when Donnie Munro hit a shot from the edge of the box - which deflected off the head of home defender McKERNIE for an OWN GOAL.

Macmillan then missed a header at the back post but made amends later when the final goal was scored, a through pass released CRAIG MACMILLAN slotted the ball into the net to complete his hat-trick.

Kevin Main then brought off a good save, pushing the ball onto the post to ensure the Jags first "clean sheet" of the season.
