BUCKIE ARE EXTRA SPECIAL IN SHIELD- BUCKIE THISTLE 3 KEITH 2
MacMillan winner sinks Keith at Victoria Park
Buckie Thistle are through to the quarter-finals of the Aberdeenshire Shield after a 3-2 extra-time victory over Keith at Victoria Park last night and will now host Inverurie Locos.
It was Keith who went in front eight minutes in when Jamie Lennox's ball into the box from the right found Gary Harris, whose shot beat Kevin Main.
Buckie hit back in 15 minutes. Donnie Munro's shot from outside the box was parried by Andy Shearer but the loose ball fell to the feet of Zander Sutherland and he nutmegged the kepper.
Buckie went in front two minutes later when Munro swung in a cross from the right that was headed home by Craig MacMillan from six yards out at the back post.
Keith levelled in 61 minutes. Lennox surged up the right but saw his left footed drive from 18 yards parried by Main. But Cammy Keith was quickest to react and he coolly took the ball round the goalkeeeper and rolled it into the net.
Buckie got the winner 11 minutes into extra time.
A Keith corner was cleared by the Buckie defence to Sutherland. He raced forward in a two-against-one situation and rolled the ball inside to MacMillan. The Buckie striker then made no mistake as he dispatched the ball beyond Shearer.
