ANGUS COMMITS TO THE JAGS UNTIL END OF 2012

Buckie Thistle right back Chris Angus, one of the most promising youngsters in north football, has signed a 12 month contract extension that wll keep him at Victoria Park until the end of the 2012 season.

The 19 year old joiner said "I have started my first season in the Highland League quite well and I'm enjoying my new defensive role.  In the past two seasons in the juveniles I was a forward and it is only recently that I have switched to defence.

"When I was playing for Formartine juveniles we didn't really have any supporters, so it is great to be playing in front of hundreds every week - especially at Victoria Park."

Buckie manager Gregg Carrol, who spotted Angus playing in the juvenile ranks with Formartine, said: "We have now got Chris on a three year contract and I am delighted.  He has done really well for us this season, so it is right the club have rewarded him with an extension to his contract.

"Chris came straight up from playing with Formartine juniors into the Highland League and has done remarkably well.

"We have been playing him at right back but he can also play at centre half.

"For a young lad he has performed brilliantly for us all season and I was pleased he managed to score his first goal when he got our late winner at Clach last Saturday.

"Chris has a bright fottball future and we are all delighted he has signed his contract extension."
