LAMBERTON LEAVES BUCKIE FOR DUFFTOWN
Defender off to team up with brothers.
Long serving Buckie Thistle defender Paul Lamberton yesterday left the Victoria Park club to sign for junior side Dufftown.
The 30 year old will link up with his brothers, Stuart and Gary at Westburn Park after negotiating a release from his Buckie contract.
Lamberton said: "I was struggling to get in the team at Buckie and I have more to offer Dufftown playing and hopefully, helping the young lads there.
"It will be a new challenge for me because I have been at Buckie 13 years.
"I had great times there and I will never forget them but all things come to an end. It was the right time to move on."
Dufftown co-manager Rab Mulheron said: "We have been chasing Paul for a while and I thought the deal wasn't going to happen. But he has sorted things out with Buckie and he wants to come to Dufftown.
"Paul has been so loyal to Buckie and he has made it clear that they are the only Highland League club he has wanted to play for.
"He wants to play alongside his two brothers and is looking for a fresh challenge.
"He will be in the squad for Saturday's Scottish Junior Cup tie at Maybole."
Everybody at Buckie Thistle wants to wish Paul all the best for the future and thank him for his loyal service to the club.
