A NEWS ITEM released today (tuesday 29th december ) by MP ANGUS ROBERTSON reads "I was very pleased to be able to support young Buckie Thistle supporter DAVID SMITH against the heavy-handed tactics of the highland football league , who have been threatening a £5,000 fine for his filming of matches, filming from which he receives no income.

 "Having spoken with supporters and heard from some club officials at different Highland League clubs there is widespread anger at the way the situation has been handled and football supporters have been contacting the parliamentary office directly to express their support for david.

 Let's hope that the spirit of christmas is with the Highland League.
