JAGS FANS TO GET SAY ON PROPOSED PYRAMID SYSTEM - MEETING NOW CANCELLED
This Saturday (2nd January 2010) all Buckie Thistle fans will be given the opportunity to give their views and opinions on the SFA's proposed "pyramid system".
Would you like to see your club leave the Highland League and join a new league of 10 teams? Playing each other four times a season in the league (twice at home and twice away) with the league winners then going into a "play-off" at the end of the season to face the winners of the south division league (the winners of this would then be promoted into the third division of Scottish football).
Or would you like to see your local team stay in the Highland League as it is at present?
We need to hear YOUR VIEWS on this as they are important to the future direction of Buckie Thistle football club, the meeting to discuss these issues will be held in the Victoria Park Function Hall - starting at 1.00pm and is expected to last for around 30-45 minutes.
Copies of the SFA's proposed "pyramid system" document will be made available and Jags fans will also be asked to vote at the end of the meeting.
Jags president Mark Duncan today said "Originally all of the clubs were asked to give their opinion's on this with only nine days notice being given, we argued against this - stating that this was far too important an issue and that we could not make any decision on this subject -without firstly consulting with our supporters, a view which was then supported by the majority of other Highland League clubs.
"We have fought for the rights of supporters to have a vote and it is now important that fans now turn up at the meeting to give their opinions on where they see the future direction of their club."
So please come along this Saturday and give your views and opinions on this subject.
