BUCKIE WANT GOOD GATE FOR ZICO'S TESTIMONIAL MATCH v ABERDEEN
Buckie Thistle manager Gregg Carrol hopes supporters turn out in force at Victoria Park on Sunday for long serving midfielder Neil Davidson's testimonial match against Aberdeen.
Davidson works offshore, but is still part of the plans of former Deveronvale manager Carrol.
The Buckie manager said: "There aren't many players who are long enough at any club to get a testimonial so there is no doubt Neil thoroughly deserves a bumper payday.
"Players who live locally tend to show more loyalty to their hometown club and that is exactly the case with Neil.
"It will be a fantastic day for him and I'm sure our supporters will turn out in numbers on the day and I would like to think Aberdeen supporters will also come along to lend their support."
Carrol is hoping former Buckie favourities will be back in the line-up on Sunday - including Micky McPherson and Paul Lamberton.
He added: "We are all hoping the Dons will send up a strong squad to reflect the player's contribution to Buckie Thistle but, regardless of that, the day is all about Neil.
"His commitment both on and off the park is quite amazing.
"He plays his football with his heart on his sleeve as he has always done and that's why he is such a favourite."
The kick off time for this Sunday's match is 2.00pm.
