At half time in the Cup Final, the draw for the Shield competition was made, pairing Thistle with Huntly, away from home, the tie to be played on 2nd or 3rd October, with the winnes at home to the winners of Banks O' Dee v Fraserburgh on 16th or 17th October. The final tie to be played at a venue to be decided on 6th or 7th November.
