BUCKIE DELIGHT AS GOALSCORER MURRAY SIGNS TWO-YEAR DEAL
Buckie Thistle have received a massive boost with the news forward Ian Murray has signed a new contract.
The 34-year-old forward, who has won three Highland League titles since making his debut with Fraserburgh at 15, has signed a two-year-deal after securing a new onshore job.
He said: "I love it up at Buckie, I wish I'd signed for them years ago.
"I enjoy the training and I'm really looking forward to being available for selection every week from here on in.
"It was hard being offshore as I was in the team one week and out the next but with six forwards in the squad we all have to be on our toes."
Delighted Buckie manager Gregg Carrol said: "Ian getting a job onshore and signing a new contract to stay with ourselves really is great news for the club.
"He made it quite clear that he didn't want to go anywhere else and the fact that he wants to finish his football career with Buckie Thistle is brilliant news for us so he has been rewarded with a two year deal, effectively he will be here for the rest of this season and the two seasons after that.
"To have someone of Ian's quality every week from now on is magnificent.
"It was good before when he was at home and not offshore but to have someone with his skill and experience available all the time is a huge bonus for the club.
"He wanted to secure a job onshore so that he could continue with his football career, that says a lot about his loyalty to the club.
"He really is a good influence on the younger lads in the dressing-room with a word in their ear and that is a great help to myslef.
