MATCH REPORT - CLACH 3 JAGS 5
The supporters got their money's worth in an eight goal Grant Street thriller.
Buckie raced into a 4-0 interval lead but Clach showed great character to score twice late on.
Clach manager Iain Polworth said: "It was great entertainment but we just can't afford to gift the reigning champions a three-goal start.
"Their third goal was a well worked one but their first two and last two were caused by basic individual defensive errors on our part.
"We did well to come back from 5 -1 to score a couple of late goals but by then the damage was done. At half-time I was quite hard-hitting when I questioned their character and make-up and obviously we need to stop making these schoolboy errors."
Buckie manager Gregg Carrol said: "We were 4-0 up at the break but we let Clach back into it in the second half and for me that took the gloss off an otherwise excellent performance. We got the result but not the performance.
"Clach were the better side after half-time when we were a shadow of the team we were in ther first half when we played a lot of good football, topped off by a fabulous third goal."
Buckie opened the scoring in the fifth minute with a powerful Lewis MacKinnon header and Zander Sutherland's volley made it 2-0 eight minutes later. Buckie were cruising after Martin Charlesworth's quickfire double, Charlesworth scoring in 30 and 38 minutes.
Buckie were reduced to 10 men when defender Darren Wood was sent off for a last man offence and Stuart Leslie netted from the resultant penalty but the Jags restored their four-goal advantage in the 78th minute when Ian Murray waltzed round goalkeeper Dave Harrison to stroke the ball home.
Clach hit late strikes from Sam Urquhart and Leslie again.
