JAGS SIGNING NEWS -SCOTT BACK AT BUCKIE WITH POINT TO PROVE

Centre forward Shawn Scott is a man with a mission after rejoining Buckie Thistle from Lossiemouth last night for an undisclosed fee.

The 27 year old former Highland League player of the year was with the Jags for a season during Duncan Shearer's tenure five years ago.

He has signed a three year contract with Buckie and returns to Victoria Park with a point to prove.

The Lossiemouth based self-employed window cleaner said "I am delighted to be back at Buckie.

"I feel I have to prove a point to everyone that I can play at a club as big as Buckie Thistle.  I owe the Jags supporters after last time.

"I enjoyed the banter with them but I didn't really enjoy my first spell at Victoria Park.  I was only 21 at the time, I wasn't really fit enough, so I didn't play well.

"Buckie Thistle manager Gregg Carrol is a hard taskmaster but he is also very fair.  I have always got on well with Gregg.  "He has been very good to me since negotiations started.

"He told me how it was and I can't wait to play for him.

"Unfortunately, I have a three game suspension hanging over me but I will be training hard and when I am free from my ban I should be ready to hit the ground running."

Buckie manager Carrol said: "I've tried to sign Shawn on two previous occasions, once for Deveronvale and once for Buckie, so I am delighted to land his signature third time around.

"When you sign a centre forward you ask your own central defenders what they think of him and our lads here, and those at the Vale previously, couldn't praise Shawn enough.

"That's a good enough recommendation for me."
