MATCH REPORT - JAGS 1 FORRES MECHANICS 1

MECHANICS ENGINEER A DRAW

CARROL HAS 'WORDS' WITH BUCKIE PLAYERS AFTER GAME

Forres Mechanics became the first team since Fraserburgh in September to take a point from Buckie Thistle at Victoria Park.

The draw meant Buckie Thistle were overtaken by Keith at the top of the table on goal difference, leaving Jags manager Gregg Carrol annoyed with his side's performance.

Carrol said: "We had words with the players after the match as we didn't push the game at all after getting a goal against the run of play in the first half.

"Our ball from back to front was just not good enough and then when we did get a pass we couldn't get the ball to stick.  We just weren't good enough.  But is is a point gained as we didn't play as we can."

Forres manager Charlie Rowley said: "We were looking for a reaction from the players after our poor performance against Brora and we certainly got what we wanted.  The only disappointment was we didn't come away with all three points as we had the majority of the play in the second half."

Buckie broke the deadlock when Chris Angus picked up a loose ball to free David MacRae, who miskicked on the edge of the box but the ball fell kindly for Shawn Scott and he netted from eight yards in the 41st minute.  Kyle Scott levelled within 60 seconds of the restart when his well executed 18-yard volley dipped in.
